Eligibility & Application
Who is eligible to apply for the doula training scholarship?
Anybody who lives in California, can speak English, and has a passion for birthwork is eligible. Some cohorts will prioritize applicants from marginalized communities or those who speak multiple languages. A valid driver's license and social security number is needed as well.
What documents do I need to apply?
We just need you to fill out the application form, and after you've been accepted, we'll have a background check run as it's required by the insurance plans we work with.
Is there an application deadline?
We have multiple cohorts throughout the year, but the sooner you apply the sooner we can get you trained.
Training Details
What does the scholarship cover?
Full scholarships cover training fees, materials, and certification costs. This means the training comes at absolutely no cost to you!
How long is the training program?
Most of our doula training programs are 4-5 days of intensive workshops, plus additional requirements like reading and writing assignments. Most of those training days will be virtual, with one day potentially being in person depending on the cohort's preferences.
What certification will I receive?
You'll receive a certificate from us as a full-spectrum (prenatal, birth, and postpartum) doula!
After Training
What happens after we're trained?
We will help you get credentialed with all the local health plans and Medi-Cal so you can start seeing patients asap! We also help find you patients in your service area.
What else does Raya Health help with?
We will not only help manage care for your patients, but we take care of billing and claims so all you have to worry about it taking care of your patients.
