About Me

I help moms go from overwhelmed and exhausted to confident and relaxed so they can truly savor the nesting days. In addition to supporting undisturbed physiological birth I offer perinatal massage, acupuncture, functional nutrition evaluations and breastfeeding counseling at 914 Dewing Avenue in Lafayette or the comfort of your own home. Specialized uterine care for her clients with certifications in the Arvigo Techniques of Maya Abdominal Massage and Prenatal Massage. Postpartum packages are an additional service and include massage and other services not covered by Raya.

Practice Philosophy

I take a physiological approach to pain and start you with preparing with different pain coping strategies and aim to help clients limit unnecessary interventions for better outcomes. I believe in the call for birth to be brought back out of the hospital and into the community with the caregivers who truly understand & support physiological birth.
I had two of my own home births and am an experienced doula with 13 years of birth and infant care . I want the human right of birth & integration to be accessible for everyone. Important note: Insurance does not cover massage or other alternative medicine modalities as it is a separate licensure.

Population Experience

I offer comprehensive postpartum care that puts your needs front and center instead of merely offering to hold the baby while you sleep. I am only currently doing birth doula assistance for clients committed to undisturbed physiological birth and willing to put the necessary time in for educating themselves about the birth process and the system. I don't judge clients if they end up with more medical help than they had planned or things shift, I do want clients committed enough to at least do the actions supporting this approach (physiological undisturbed birth is like a home birth but in the hospital).
