Hi, I'm Amanda! I am a mother, a grandmother, and a longtime social worker who started this second career as a postpartum doula after retiring from UCSF in 2021. I am passionate about supporting mothers and families after birth, especially if a baby was in the NICU, since I am the mother of a NICU graduate myself. Supporting families through this tender transition is truly my calling.
On a personal note, I work part time during the day and provide whatever emotional or practical support a family needs during the transition after birth, which is a magical and often challenging time. Old enough to be your mother, though I am not, I have been around the block, and I look forward to sharing my life experience and expertise with you and your family.
My philosophy is rooted in tuning into each family and providing whatever support they need on any given day. I know this can be an overwhelming time, and I can anticipate and address both the emotional and physical needs that a birthing parent and a family might have. Feelings and needs change daily, so I remain flexible, kind, loving, direct, and open with every family I support.
Overall, my goal is to honor this sacred time after a baby arrives, and I love navigating this new threshold alongside every family I have the honor of walking with.
