Greetings, my name is Denisha, and I am LA’s Bike Riding Doula and founder of Sa Amai Birthwork. I’m rooted in Leimert Park and love that I am able to show up for teen, young, and single moms with steady, compassionate care. I combine hands‑on advocacy with calming breathwork, culturally grounded support, and practical resource referrals so you feel seen, heard, and empowered from pregnancy through postpartum. I ride to meet you where you are and stay with you through the whole journey — prenatal visits, labor, and the sacred early weeks after birth.

Practice Philosophy

More than birth support — Sa Amai Birthwork aims to restore the village. My work centers on culturally responsive, trauma‑informed care that honors your values and choices while advocating for safer, more dignified births. I prioritize emotional and mental well‑being, evidence‑informed comfort techniques, and postpartum sanctuary so mommies and birthing people can heal and grow stronger. I partner with families and providers, offer judgment‑free guidance, and connect you to community resources to build lasting support beyond the birth.

In addition to supporting young mothers, I also uplift and support all birthing people. I am based in the Leimert Park area and provide support far north as Santa Clarita, south to San Clemente/Newport Beach, west to Malibu, and east to Pomona.
