Hi, I'm Dinorah Santana! I'm a first-generation Mexican American birth worker, proudly supporting families and their options across California. This work is truly my calling.
In 2017, I accepted a scholarship with Birthing Way College of Midwifery in Portland, Oregon. After becoming a full-spectrum doula with an emphasis on community care, I've continued to develop my practice through ongoing education, including Placenta Encapsulation, Spinning Babies, and Built for Birth, with a focus on community-based birth work and the decolonization of our birthing spaces.
Being raised on a cul-de-sac surrounded by both my parents, my grandparents, and my neighborhood community, my birth work is, at its core, a reflection of those experiences. Come as you are, and I will support you as you are.
My philosophy is simple: I'm here to educate and support, with the goal of low-intervention births and client-centered postpartum care. I strive to facilitate an empowered birth experience by centering and uplifting your birthing preferences, lived experiences, values, and perspectives.
Rooted in community care and the decolonization of our birthing spaces, I believe in meeting you exactly where you are, come as you are, and I will support you as you are. I work to bring you comfort and peace of mind, opening space for self-advocacy, results-based comfort measures, and most importantly, room for your joy.
Overall, my goal is to help you feel educated, empowered, and fully supported, free to experience birth and postpartum in the way that is truest to you.
