I am a compassionate and dedicated doula with a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree, passionate about supporting families through every stage of the birth journey. I am fluent in Dari, Pashto, and English, which allows me to connect with a diverse range of clients and provide culturally sensitive, personalized care. I am committed to helping families feel empowered, informed, and supported, offering guidance, comfort, and advocacy during pregnancy, labor, and postpartum to create a safe, nurturing, and positive experience.
My philosophy is that every birthing person deserves to feel informed, respected, and supported at every stage of their journey. I believe birth is a deeply personal experience, and my role is to provide compassionate, judgment-free support that honors your choices and values.
My approach to prenatal, birth, and postpartum support is centered on respect, education, and culturally responsive care. I believe every family deserves to feel informed, heard, and supported in a way that aligns with their values, traditions, and personal goals.
During the prenatal period, I focus on building trust and providing education so families can make confident decisions about their care. This includes discussing birth preferences, helping them understand their options, preparing for different scenarios, and connecting them to resources in the community such as access to diapers, car seats, or other essentials when needed. I also make space for emotional support, because pregnancy is not just physical it is a major life transition.
During labor and birth, my role is to be a steady, calming presence. I provide continuous support through comfort measures, encouragement, and advocacy. I help clients navigate the hospital environment, communicate their needs, and feel grounded throughout the process. I respect that every birth is different, and I meet clients where they are whether they want a natural birth, medical interventions, or something in between.
Postpartum, I focus on recovery, adjustment, and confidence building. I support with newborn care, breastfeeding or lactation guidance, and emotional well being. I pay close attention to how the parent is feeling, because mental health is just as important as physical healing. I also continue to connect families with resources and support systems so they do not feel alone after birth.
Overall, my philosophy is to provide compassionate, non judgmental support that empowers families, honors their cultural background, and helps them feel safe and confident throughout their journey into parenthood.
I have experience supporting a diverse range of families, with a strong focus on culturally and linguistically diverse communities. I work closely with families who speak English, Dari Farsi, and Pashto, which allows me to provide support that feels familiar, respectful, and easier to understand during such an important time.
Much of my experience is with immigrant and refugee families, particularly those who may be navigating the healthcare system for the first time or facing language barriers. I support them in understanding their options, communicating with providers, and feeling more confident and comfortable throughout their care.
I have also supported first time parents, as well as families who already have children and are adjusting to a new baby. My work often includes supporting low income families by helping connect them to resources such as diapers, car seats, strollers, and community programs.
In addition, I have experience supporting clients from a variety of birth preferences and medical situations, including hospital births, high risk pregnancies, and postpartum recovery with a focus on both physical and emotional wellbeing.
Overall, I work with families from many different backgrounds, and I approach each one with respect, flexibility, and a commitment to meeting their unique needs.
