About Me

Hi, I'm Imani! I'm a queer and non-binary full-spectrum doula operating out of Alameda County, California, serving the Bay Area and beyond. As a natural helper and empath, I've always been drawn to finding ways to help people, but it wasn't until I witnessed the birth of a family member that I realized where my calling lies: in supporting people through life's changes, both big and small. My passion is holding people's hands through the myriad transitions that are inherent to being human.

In the fall of 2023, I took the leap to officially train as a doula through Birthing Advocacy Doula Training. Today, I'm focused on supporting clients, growing my knowledge base through continuing education, and building community with birthing people, birthworkers, and others navigating life transitions.

At the heart of my practice is a simple truth: how you are doing matters to me. I meet you where you are, with no judgment; I trust you as the authority on your own experience; and I'm in full support of your vision, no matter how it looks. My goal is to educate and empower you to make your own best decisions and advocate for your needs, while seeing and holding you gently as a human moving through one of the biggest transitions of a lifetime.

Practice Philosophy

My philosophy is grounded in the understanding that care work is deeply relational. Long before doula work became a professional pathway, people have tended to birthing families since humans came into existence. To me, care is not something you can learn in a certification course or buy for a set dollar amount, it is both a skill and a feeling, combined to empower everyone to be exactly who they are in any given moment. When I partner with you as your doula, we enter into a relationship of care whose very heartbeat is this: how you are doing matters to me.

I'm guided by a few belief pillars. I will meet you where you are, you can be exactly who you are, and you'll receive no judgment from me. I will trust you, you are the authority on your own experience, and I honor the knowledge of yourself that only you hold. What you want is what I want for you, I support your vision, no matter how it looks. And I believe communication is caring, conflict, hard conversations, and boundaries are all welcome here.
