Hi, I'm Izzy! I am a calm, genuine, passionate, and encouraging guide for your journey into motherhood. My work with families is rooted in the belief that the transition into parenthood is one of the most transformational experiences a person and partnership will ever move through. I have worked as a midwife assistant supporting home birth, as a medical assistant alongside nurse midwives, and for the past five years as a birth and postpartum doula. I am also the founder of Peacepartum, facilitating nationwide virtual support circles for new mothers. Outside of birthwork, you can find me camping in the mountains, hiking through the trees, lounging beside the river, sharing meals with loved ones, dancing, and skiing!
Unlike standard birth preparation, which often focuses primarily on logistics and pain management, my prenatal support is holistic and relational. I guide families in preparing not just the body, but also the mind, heart, and partnership for the transformative journey of birth. This includes cultivating deep partner connection, exploring and releasing fears, building trust in the body's innate wisdom, and reflecting on personal meaning and values around birth. By addressing both the emotional and practical aspects of labor, my preparation helps families feel grounded, resilient, and truly ready—and better supported in the transition into postpartum life afterward.
After childbirth, I support families as their postpartum doula. Through my mentorship with Carla Sage and her program The Art of Postpartum, I deepened my skills in providing holistic, mother-centered care through a traditional lens informed by Traditional Chinese Medicine, emphasizing warmth, rest, nourishment, and the protection of a mother's vital energy. Postpartum is not a time meant to be navigated alone—it is a profound physical, emotional, and relational threshold that asks for rest, reassurance, and steady presence. With thoughtful care, emotional holding, and an understanding of the rhythms of early parenthood, I help families recover more fully, feel less isolated, and step into parenthood with greater trust in themselves. A well-supported mother creates resilient families, thriving children, and ultimately, a healthier society. I treasure this work and deeply care about the families I support. At this time, I am accepting limited birth support for 2026. If you feel a deep connection with my care, please don't hesitate to reach out.
