Hello! I'm Jessica, founder of Birth and Beyond Doula, a certified birth and postpartum doula dedicated to helping expectant parents and growing families feel informed, confident, respected, and supported throughout pregnancy, childbirth, and the postpartum journey.
I believe every family deserves compassionate, personalized, and culturally respectful care. My goal is to create a safe, welcoming, and judgment-free environment where parents feel heard, empowered, and comfortable expressing their needs, preferences, and concerns.
I am fluent in English and Spanish and have beginner-level knowledge of American Sign Language (ASL). I am especially passionate about reducing language and communication barriers so families from diverse cultural backgrounds can feel understood and supported throughout their birth experiences.
I proudly welcome Medi-Cal and private-pay families throughout Los Angeles County, including Santa Clarita, Valencia, Newhall, Saugus, Canyon Country, Sylmar, Mission Hills, Van Nuys, the San Fernando Valley, Palmdale, Lancaster, the Antelope Valley, Downey, and surrounding communities.
My experience includes supporting families during childbirth at Valley Presbyterian Hospital, Olive View–UCLA Medical Center, and hospitals in the Downey area. I am also familiar with several Kaiser Permanente medical centers, Henry Mayo Newhall Hospital in Valencia, and Providence Holy Cross Medical Center in Mission Hills. My familiarity with local hospital environments allows me to provide calm, reassuring support while collaborating respectfully with medical teams and honoring each family's individual birth preferences.
My services include prenatal education, birth planning and preparation, in-person labor and delivery support, breathing and relaxation techniques, physical comfort measures, emotional support, postpartum recovery assistance, newborn care education, infant feeding guidance, and extended in-home postpartum care.
In addition to my doula training and certification, my professional background in special education, early intervention, and parent education has strengthened my ability to provide patient, individualized, and compassionate support. I understand that every family and every baby is unique, and I strive to meet parents where they are while helping them build confidence in their parenting journey.
My approach is centered on active listening, clear communication, evidence-informed education, and respect for each family's cultural traditions, personal values, and birth decisions. I support first-time parents, experienced parents, single parents, and families from all walks of life.
I believe doula support extends beyond childbirth. Whether you need reassurance during pregnancy, continuous comfort during labor, or guidance as you adjust to life with your newborn, I am committed to helping you feel supported every step of the way.
At Birth and Beyond Doula, every family is treated with dignity, kindness, patience, and respect. My mission is to help create a positive and empowering birth and postpartum experience where every parent feels valued, confident, and never alone.
It would be an honor to support you and your family during this special chapter of your life.
At Birth and Beyond Doula, I believe every parent and family deserves to feel safe, heard, respected, valued, and empowered throughout pregnancy, childbirth, and the postpartum journey. My philosophy is rooted in compassion, dignity, inclusivity, and the belief that every family deserves personalized care, regardless of age, cultural background, language, disability, financial circumstances, or life experiences.
I believe there is no single right way to give birth or experience parenthood. Whether a family chooses an unmedicated birth, an epidural, a cesarean birth, or experiences unexpected changes in their birth plan, my role is to provide continuous, nonjudgmental emotional, physical, and educational support while honoring their individual choices and preferences.
My professional background in special education, early intervention, and parent education has shaped my approach to supporting families. Through my work with children, teenagers, adults, and mothers experiencing developmental differences, anxiety, depression, mental health challenges, eating disorders, and difficult life circumstances, I have learned the importance of patience, empathy, active listening, individualized support, and respecting each person's unique needs.
I recognize that pregnancy, childbirth, and postpartum recovery can bring both joy and emotional challenges. I strive to provide a calm, compassionate, and emotionally supportive environment where parents feel comfortable expressing their fears, asking questions, and communicating their needs without fear of judgment. I value trauma-informed principles, including emotional safety, trust, choice, collaboration, and respect for personal boundaries.
As a bilingual English- and Spanish-speaking doula, I am passionate about culturally responsive care and helping families overcome communication barriers. I believe every parent deserves access to understandable information, encouragement, and respectful support when making decisions about their care.
I am especially committed to supporting first-time parents, teen mothers, single mothers, underserved communities, and families experiencing financial or emotional hardships. I believe that a family's circumstances should never determine the quality of compassion, dignity, or support they receive.
My approach emphasizes evidence-informed education, emotional reassurance, physical comfort, informed decision-making, and respectful collaboration with healthcare professionals. I recognize the importance of working within my nonmedical scope of practice and encouraging families to seek appropriate medical or mental health care when needed.
I also believe postpartum care is just as important as birth support. Every parent deserves time, encouragement, education, and compassionate assistance as they recover, bond with their newborn, and adjust to the changes of parenthood.
My philosophy is to support without judgment, educate without pressure, listen with compassion, empower through knowledge, and honor every family's unique journey.
At Birth and Beyond Doula, my mission is to help every family feel confident, respected, understood, and never alone during one of the most meaningful transitions of their lives.
I have experience supporting first-time parents, teen mothers, single mothers, growing families, and families experiencing financial, emotional, and socioeconomic hardships. I am committed to providing compassionate, inclusive, trauma-informed, and culturally responsive support to individuals and families from diverse backgrounds.
As a bilingual English- and Spanish-speaking doula, I have experience working with families from different cultural and linguistic backgrounds. I strive to create a welcoming, judgment-free environment where every parent feels respected, understood, and empowered throughout pregnancy, childbirth, and the postpartum journey.
My professional background in special education, early intervention, and parent education has provided me with valuable experience working with children, teenagers, adults, and mothers with diverse developmental, behavioral, emotional, and educational needs. Through my work as a special education teacher, I have supported individuals experiencing anxiety, depression, mental health challenges, eating disorders, and other circumstances requiring patience, understanding, individualized communication, and compassionate support.
I recognize that individuals experiencing emotional challenges, limited family support, financial hardship, or difficult life circumstances may benefit from additional reassurance, education, and access to community resources. My approach emphasizes active listening, emotional encouragement, respect for personal boundaries, and individualized, nonjudgmental care.
I am passionate about supporting underserved populations, including teen parents, single parents, Spanish-speaking families, Medi-Cal recipients, and families navigating challenging life transitions.
As a doula, I provide nonmedical emotional, physical, and educational support while respecting professional boundaries and collaborating appropriately with healthcare providers and mental health professionals when additional care is needed.
My goal is to ensure every family, regardless of age, background, language, disability, emotional challenges, financial circumstances, or family structure, feels valued, heard, respected, and supported throughout their pregnancy, birth, and postpartum experience.
