Hi my name is Josy, and I am a certified Birth and Postpartum Doula dedicated to providing warm, evidence-based, and family-centered support for families throughout the Bay Area and East Bay.

Hi, I'm Joseane! From the moment I stepped into the world of birth and postpartum work, I knew this was my calling. I'm a Birth & Postpartum Doula and Newborn & Infant Care Specialist serving families across the Bay Area and East Bay, with a background grounded in evidence-based care, cultural sensitivity, and a genuine passion for supporting parents through one of the most transformative seasons of their lives.
My training is extensive: I hold a Cross-Certification through ProDoula as a Certified Postpartum & Infant Care Doula, a Hospital Friendly Doula (HFD) Certification as a Birth and Postpartum Doula, and a Newborn Care Specialist certification through the University of Colorado. I'm CPR & First Aid certified and a CERT member through the Menlo Park Fire Department, with training in Child Development through Abilene, continuing education in Lactation through UCSD, Infant Massage, and professional development in Sleep Shaping and Sleep Training through Summer Sleep Secrets. I'm also an active volunteer doula at Alta Bates Summit Medical Center, supporting birthing people and families from diverse backgrounds.
Families often describe my approach as a blend of warmth, intuition, and grounded professionalism. I proudly support LGBTQ+ families, offering fully inclusive, gender-affirming care and language so every parent feels safe, welcomed, and respected.
For me, being a doula is more than a profession; it's a devotion to nurturing, empowering, and walking alongside families during a beautiful and vulnerable chapter. Every home I enter becomes part of my heart, and it's an honor to support parents as they grow into their new roles with confidence, joy, and rest.
My philosophy is rooted in compassionate, family-centered, and evidence-based care. I believe every family deserves to feel supported, informed, and empowered throughout pregnancy, birth, and the postpartum period. My approach combines emotional grounding, clear education, and practical guidance, meeting each family exactly where they are, without judgment or pressure, with a plan that reflects their unique rhythms, cultural background, identities, and values.
During prenatal care, I focus on preparing families with confidence, offering education, emotional support, and personalized guidance so they feel ready and secure. In birth, my role is to bring calm, encouragement, advocacy, and continuous presence, helping families feel safe and respected in their choices.
In the postpartum period, I blend nurturing care with gentle structure, drawing on the Montessori method to encourage independence for both parents and babies through simple, responsive routines. I support newborn feeding, recovery, sleep foundations, and home organization, and one of my strongest areas is sleep shaping, using age-appropriate, attachment-minded techniques that help many babies sleep through the night by 4–5 months. Whether I'm guiding parents through their baby's first nights or helping older siblings adjust, I work to create a peaceful, supportive environment where everyone feels held and cared for.
No matter the stage, I approach my work with empathy, respect, cultural sensitivity, and deep dedication. Overall, my goal is always the same: to bring calm, clarity, and confidence to your experience, helping your family transition into parenthood with joy and reassurance.
