Kurshawnda Harris is a Southern California-based doula, health educator, and passionate advocate for reproductive justice. She brings over 15 years of experience in reproductive and maternal health.
With a dual Master’s in Public Health/Maternal & Child Health and a Certified Health Education Specialist (CHES), Kurshawnda has spent her career educating and empowering communities on topics like abortion care, prenatal wellness, and postpartum recovery. Her professional background includes 15+ years as a reproductive and abortion health educator as well as over three years providing prenatal and postpartum education.
While she proudly serves Black families and families of color in her practice, Kurshawnda welcomes all birthing people with warmth, wisdom, and nonjudgmental care. She believes that doula work is not just about showing up — it's about holding space, protecting sacred moments, and uplifting every birthing person’s right to feel seen, heard, and supported.
I approach birth work as a sacred calling — one rooted in culturally responsive care, emotional support, advocacy, and deep respect for each family’s unique needs. ALL birthing people deserve to be heard, listed to and to be treated with respect.
