Hi, I'm Lea! With almost 20 years of experience supporting families through pregnancy, birth, postpartum, and early parenting, I bring a calm, steady presence to moments that can feel overwhelming or uncertain. This work is truly my calling.
I've worked with a wide range of family structures and birth experiences, including medically complex and high-risk pregnancies. With a background in health sciences and public health, I love helping families make sense of evidence-based information and turn it into practical, real-life guidance they can actually use.
I provide emotional support and advocacy while helping families navigate feeding, sleep, and the many adjustments that come with welcoming a new baby. Safety education is a big part of my work, and my Montessori certification and RIE approach help me support families in setting up enriching environments for their growing babies.
In addition to my doula training, I bring many years of experience as a Certified Child Passenger Safety Technician and a Safe Sleep Ambassador. I love teaching families about car seat safety, safe sleep, and everyday injury prevention in a clear, approachable, and supportive way. I'm committed to ongoing learning, so the care I offer is always current, respectful, and family-centered.
My philosophy around prenatal, birth, and postpartum support is grounded in individualized, compassionate, and evidence-based care, rooted in cultural humility and trauma-informed practice. I believe pregnancy and early parenthood are both physiologic and deeply transformative experiences that deserve thoughtful, whole-person support, offered through inclusive, affirming, and nonjudgmental care.
During the prenatal period, I focus on optimizing physical and emotional health while offering clear education and shared decision-making, empowering you with evidence-based information so you feel confident, never overwhelmed. In birth, I center autonomy, respect, and safety: I support physiologic birth whenever appropriate and value timely medical intervention when it's needed, so you feel heard, informed, and actively involved regardless of how your birth unfolds.
Postpartum care is equally essential. I prioritize recovery, mental health, feeding support, and long-term wellness, recognizing how profoundly this transition shapes a parent's well-being. Part of my role is to build your independence, equipping you with the tools, knowledge, and confidence to navigate this stage on your own—and I intentionally connect families with trusted community resources and multidisciplinary support, so you feel held well beyond our direct work together.
Ultimately, I strive to work myself out of a job by fostering resilience and autonomy. My goal is to teach transferable skills in communication, self-advocacy, and informed decision-making, so you can confidently navigate healthcare systems, parenting choices, and future challenges as your child grows, because I believe evidence-based care and cultural sensitivity go hand in hand.
