Hi, I'm Mai! I'm a dedicated Registered Nurse and emerging Nurse Case Manager in Northern California, known for my compassionate, patient-centered approach and my strong commitment to holistic, evidence-based care. I earned my Master of Science in Nursing in Case Management from Samuel Merritt University, developing advanced skills in care coordination, patient advocacy, and population health.
My clinical experience spans acute care, trauma ICU, community-based nursing, home health, and integrative health across multiple systems, including Sutter Roseville, NorthBay Health, Maxim Home Health, ShaMynds Healing Center, and currently as a psychiatric RN at Sierra Vista Hospital. My background as a volunteer doula deeply shaped my practice, teaching me the importance of empathy, emotional support, and guiding patients through vulnerable transitions with knowledge and compassion.
That doula experience gave me firsthand insight into how essential this role is in supporting pregnant individuals toward the best possible outcomes, through reassurance, companionship, and evidence-based care that helps families navigate this sensitive time with safety, guidance, and education. Supporting individuals through pregnancy and childbirth is truly my calling: I'm passionate about promoting safe, informed decision-making, advocating for emotional and physical needs, and empowering families through compassionate education and continuous guidance.
Outside of my professional life, I'm a devoted mother of three and an active member of the Folsom community. You'll find me kayaking, exploring local cafés, painting rocks, learning new things, and embracing continuous personal growth with curiosity and warmth.
My philosophy is grounded in the belief that every individual deserves compassionate, respectful, evidence-based care that honors their unique experiences, values, and goals. I believe healing and wellness are best achieved through partnership, education, advocacy, and trust, so I strive to create a supportive environment where patients and families feel heard, empowered, and actively involved in their own healthcare decisions.
As a Registered Nurse with a Master of Science in Nursing in Case Management, I'm committed to holistic, patient-centered care that addresses not only physical health, but also the emotional, social, cultural, and environmental factors that shape well-being. To me, effective healthcare goes beyond treating illness; it means promoting understanding, fostering resilience, and connecting individuals with the resources and support they need to thrive.
My experience as a volunteer doula has profoundly shaped this philosophy. Supporting individuals and families through pregnancy, childbirth, and postpartum transitions taught me the importance of presence, empathy, and continuous support during some of life's most vulnerable and transformative moments, and showed me the real impact of compassionate guidance, informed decision-making, and advocacy in helping families navigate complex experiences with confidence and dignity.
I'm passionate about empowering patients through education, encouraging informed choices, and advocating for equitable access to quality care, approaching every interaction with compassion, integrity, cultural humility, and a commitment to lifelong learning. As a nurse, mother, and community member, I know the strength that comes from meaningful human connection. Overall, my goal is to serve as a trusted partner in care, offering knowledge, encouragement, and support to help individuals and families achieve their healthiest, most fulfilling lives.
