About Me
Greetings, my name is Keyz. I am a Chicago native currently living in Sacramento, Ca. I first found my passion for maternal and infant health while studying Public Health at The Ohio State University. After moving to California, I wanted to expand my knowledge from prevention and education to intervention. With a Bachelor’s degree in Nursing and a minor in women’s health, I bring an interesting perspective of clinical practice to doula support. Since becoming a behavioral health nurse I have also expanded my perinatal care to focus on maternal mental health and supporting clients psychologically and emotionally as they navigate parenthood.
I offer clients access to information, tools, and resources that will help them sustain wellness over their lifetime. Moreover, as a certified doula and cannabis consultant I aim to educate, normalize, and advocate for the use of therapeutic cannabis in women’s health, particularly in aspects of birth and postpartum care. My goal is to heal communities of color that have been ravaged by the war on drugs by reducing barriers to accessing cannabis, and improve birth outcomes for Black birthing-people by restoring the cultural and medicinal connection between cannabis and womb health for all members of the African diaspora.
Birth is a sacred, natural, physiological process that is to be witness and supported; not governed or managed. Anyone involved in the birth process should be upholding the patient's bodily autonomy.
