To date, I have provided face-to-face and remote support to approximately 300 families in Japan and the United States. What I learned there is that childbirth is centered on the life that is born and the mother who gives birth.

Hi, I'm Takayo! My path to birth work grew from my own journey. I gave birth at the same hospital where I had once volunteered, then moved to the United States, where I lived through a lonely birth and breastfeeding experience, a divorce, and many other life transitions along the way. During this time, I met my mentor, a doula, and completed my own doula training. Supporting families through birth became truly my calling, and I've now been a doula in the United States for 15 years.
To date, I've provided both face-to-face and remote support to approximately 300 families across Japan and the United States, an honor that has taught me so much about what it means to welcome new life.
When birth begins, the mother rides the wave of giving birth with her whole body and soul, breathing in unison with her baby and welcoming new life into the world. My philosophy is centered on family-centered prenatal, birth, and postpartum preparation, rooted in humanity and cultural support.
I believe childbirth is centered on two things: the life that is being born, and the mother who gives birth. When it comes to how a whole family welcomes its newest member, there is no single method or plan, each family's path is their own. I honor that, meeting you with respect for your culture, your values, and your unique way of welcoming new life.
I also believe that the mother who gives birth is, in a sense, "giving birth to her original self", experiencing all of her emotions and sensations along the way. I'm here to ride the waves and the process of childbirth right alongside you.
Overall, my goal is to help create a space of security and humanity around you, so you feel supported, honored, and held through every wave of this transformative journey.
