Valori Sharp

Full Spectrum Doula

About Me

Hi, I’m Valori! It was not until I experienced pregnancy, birth, postpartum, and breastfeeding with my second daughter that I realized I was made for supporting people in their lactation and postpartum journeys.

I had my oldest daughter just weeks after turning seventeen. With that came a myriad of challenges: the trauma of being alone, difficulty and major pain when breastfeeding, a baby labeled “failure to thrive” due to weight gain issues, and ultimately postpartum depression. When my husband and I decided to add another baby to our family, I knew I did not want my breastfeeding and postpartum experience to look and feel the way it did the first time, so I started educating myself on every imaginable topic in the postpartum and breastfeeding world.

All of my prep work, an amazing support system, and knowing when to ask for help gave me such a wonderful experience. I went on to breastfeed my youngest for fourteen months, with zero signs of postpartum depression. When we started weaning, I decided to completely shift my career path. I obtained my Lactation Educator and Postpartum Doula certificates and completed UCSD’s Lactation Consultant program. My passion is educating, and my goal is to guide every new parent toward their own goals with the same preparation, support, and confidence that changed my own experience.

Practice Philosophy

My philosophy is rooted in providing the highest quality of postpartum, nutrition, and lactation support, delivered with trust, care, and thoughtfulness. I am here to help, support, guide, and encourage, embracing every goal a family has and helping them achieve it. Postpartum and breastfeeding experiences are not one size fits all, and every experience and every baby is different.

Overall, my goal is to be here for the new baby, the family, and especially the parent, because every parent deserves support.
