About Me

Hi, I'm Emily Shenson!  My philosophy is built on a foundation of support without judgment, and my mission is to educate, empower, and provide personalized care to the diverse families in my practice. I believe deeply in meeting each family exactly where they are and offering compassionate, informed guidance through every stage of their journey.

I have been a birth and postpartum doula in the Bay Area since 2000, completing my training with Heart and Hands Midwifery, Renaissance Midwifery, and DONA. With a background rooted in midwifery, I have always worked to bridge the gap between holistic and medical models of care. In 2002, I had the profound experience of delivering babies in Jamaica, an experience that shaped my perspective and renewed my passion for birth work. I now offer experienced, grounded support locally and internationally as a birth educator, sleep consultant, lactation specialist, and facilitator of the Bridges New Parent Group.

In addition to birth and postpartum care, I integrate BRIDGES: Health and Wellness into my work as a certified Metabolic Balance Coach, supporting clients worldwide in achieving optimal health through improved metabolism, hormone balance, energy, and overall physical, emotional, and spiritual well-being. I am always striving toward an ever-higher standard of excellence in the care I provide. I live and share my joy with my husband and two children in the San Francisco Bay Area.
